1 The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” (Psalm 110:1 ESV)
Sit. Not fight. Not run. Not keep up. Just sit.
The location meant something. It was an imperative sentence: sit at my (the LORD's) right hand.
Timing was essential as well. There was an end result. God was going to take care of all those enemies who lurk. Those who think they are all that will be put under submission by Jehovah God. it was not up to David. It is not up to me. I am not fighting because I cannot. I will lose horribly.
David, in this Psalm, simply says sit.
Why is that so hard?
