Visit here for others who are sharing thankful hearts today.

The theme for this week is courage. My first thoughts were quite empty. Courage – why would I be thankful for courage? How has courage played a part in my life this week?

Despite my immature response, God worked to prompt my heart. Courage is a huge part of every day and should prompt my heart to thankfulness. Here are a few of my thoughts.

  • I am thankful for my husband's courage to step out with a partner to build their own law practice.
  • I am thankful that when my courage is lacking, God's faithfulness is present.
  • I am thankful for the courage that God provides daily for me to teach my kids at home.
  • When God prompts my heart, I am thankful for the courage that God infuses into me to act.
  • Our family has recently changed churches after 19 years. I am thankful for the courage to obey God's voice.
  • Life gets crazy. Life is hard. God is so good and gives courage to be counter-cultural in our marriage and family. It is easy to follow the crowd and give in to what society says is the thing to do. It isn't so easy to make decisions that don't follow that crowd's way of thinking.

I am thankful for God's examples in His Word that show people who were afraid and lacked courage. God didn't set those people aside and render them useless. Rather, He told them not be afraid. He promised that He would be with them and go before them. He promised His faithfulness and proved it over and over again. He listened to their cries of fear and frustration. In the end, his comfort and encouragement allowed these people to keep going and finish the course that God had laid out for them.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a go getter and can be filled with anxiety at any given moment. I need courage.

I am thankful for a God who gives courage. Thank you God for what you have for me today and the courage you will give me to face it.

We left a church that my husband had attended his entire life and I had attended about 15 years. It does take courage, but obeying God's leading is so rewarding!

What a great list of thanksgiving!

Happy TT!
